The Artist
Hello! I'm the artist behind Madescapes. My journey began with a simple sketchbook and a love for the places that shape our memories.
I specialize in capturing the soul of landscapes and cityscapes through the intricate, deliberate medium of pen and ink. In a world that moves increasingly fast, I find solace in the slow, meditative process of drawing—building up textures line by line, dot by dot.
My work is an invitation to pause and look closer. To notice the way light hits a mountain peak, the chaotic beauty of a city skyline, or the quiet charm of a countryside cottage.
Whether it's an original piece, a print, or a custom commission of a place special to you, my hope is that my art brings a sense of connection and wonder into your space.
The Process
Every piece begins with observation. I spend hours studying the subject—whether on location or through reference photos—to understand its structure and atmosphere. Then comes the ink. There is no erasing, only committing to each mark. This constraint brings an honesty and vitality to the work that I cherish.
Observation
Studying light, shadow, and form.
Drafting
Light pencil sketches to establish composition.
Inking
Layering texture and detail with archival pens.
